This week, we saw the return of Stone Cold Steve Austin (and JBL for a few minutes) and man, I must say I’m really proud to be a huge WWE fan nowadays. Even my peers are raving about this year’s WrestleMania season and how couldn’t they? Triple H, Undertaker, Trish Stratus, The Rock and now, Stone Cold Steve Austin in just a span of 1 month. Talk about laying all down the aces!
There have been ramblings around the net about how WWE Attitude era is owning WWE PG recently. Yes, I do wish that they eventually get rid of the PG programming but let’s be realistic here, do you guys really see WWE giving up the PG stuff anytime soon? As much as most adult fans want that, the future doesn’t look that way. After WrestleMania 27, most likely the Attitude era nostalgia will be gone again. Stone Cold and The Rock aren’t staying no matter what they say, Triple H is ready to relocate to the corporate ranks and Shawn Michaels is happily retired. The Undertaker has 1-2 years left in his body so he’s the only one who’ll probably stay from these veterans.
No one can deny how these guys have brought ratings up again these past few weeks and to see them feud with the likes of John Cena, Randy Orton, Alberto del Rio, The Miz and CM Punk would be a total treat for everyone. The Rock-Cena-Miz angle has been gold already. How about Stone Cold mixing up with Randy Orton? Even adult fans won’t have anything bad to say about that. I say have them stay until SummerSlam! Just dreaming.

| * Booker T got a big pop from his hometown crowd when he, Michael Cole and Josh Matthews came out to announce. * Edge opens the show and challenges Alberto Del Rio to a fight. Del Rio and Brodus Clay come out. Edge attacks but is dropped by Clay. Christian come out to make the save but Del Rio and Clay get the upperhand. Teddy Long comes out and announces a tag team match for tonight's main event. * Kane beat Wade Barrett by DQ when The Corre attacked. Big Show came out and saved Kane. Teddy Long comes out and makes it a tag team match with Show and Kane vs. Barrett and Heath Slater, the rest of Corre is banned from ringside. The tag match ends in a DQ also as The Corre interferes. Big Show nails Ezekiel Jackson and Barrett with a chair. * Cody Rhodes is backstage heading to the ring. * Cody Rhodes wins a squash over JTG while still wearing his suit. * Michael Cole interviews John Cena and clips air from The Miz's attack on RAW. Jack Swagger comes out to attack Cena. Cena clears the ring of Swagger and goes after Cole. Swagger saves Cole from the Attitude Adjustment but gets laid out with one for himself. * The Sin Cara video is shown again. * Layla defeated Kaitlyn and beat her up after the match. * Rey Mysterio beat Drew McIntyre. * Triple H comes out and talks about how he will win at WrestleMania.Undertaker comes out and they face off. Triple H does the crotch chop and Taker "cuts his throat" before leaving. * Christian and Edge defeated Alberto Del Rio and Brodus Clay in the main event. |

I would be lying if I said I didn’t watch WrestleMania every year mainly for The Undertaker, because that’s exactly what I do. I love the show and I love the road that leads into the grandest stage of them all, and I mark-out quite a lot when favorites like Stone Cold and The Rock decide to make rare appearances at the event, but the one thing that keeps me on the edge of my seat more than any other match is the one that involves the Deadman and his unprecedented WrestleMania winning streak.
I have to admit though, there were times when I was almost certain The Undertaker wouldn’t be victorious. Randy Orton came extremely close to ending the streak at WrestleMania 21, and so did Edge at WrestleMania 24. Even Shawn Michaels, despite rumors of his retirement back at WrestleMania 25, was just half a second away from ending the most iconic accolade in pro-wrestling history. But by the end of all those intense battles, the Phenom would stand tall as the winner, and the streak would have gained another number, adding even more grandeur to its awe-inspiring legacy.
Some of the biggest names in wrestling’s illustrious timeline have dared to stare into the soulless eyes of The Undertaker over the course of his outstanding 20-year career, and challenge him at his home-turf of WrestleMania. Legends like Ric Flair,Diesel, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, and “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka fell victim to the Deadman’s dominance, and dangerous rivals like Batista, Big Show, and his own brother Kane could almost taste victory before they were toppled by the black-clad warrior. In the 18 times he has been at WrestleMania, The Undertaker has defeated all members of Evolution, and both Triple H and Shawn Michaels, pioneers of Degeneration X.
This year, the stakes are probably higher than ever. Triple H has battled The Undertaker at WrestleMania before and failed, but in the 10 years since then The Game has become more dominant, more ruthless, and has gained a decade worth of experience from his time in the ring. It’ll be an epic rivalry, and the match itself is bound to become the highlight of the night, but I think (and hope) that in the end,The Undertaker will reign supreme and walk out of WrestleMania 27 with a massive 19-0 blazing high and bright on the Titantron screen.
